Aurigny has confirmed the delivery of its fifth ATR 72-600 aircraft, marking an important milestone in its ongoing fleet development strategy.

The aircraft, designated OY-NZB and soon to be registered as G-PBOT in honour of Guernsey’s Petit Bot beach, will undergo comprehensive checks before entering into service.

These checks are part of standard procedures to ensure the aircraft's airworthiness and to comply with safety regulations established by the Civil Aviation Authority.

With this latest addition, Aurigny successfully completes its fleet transition, which now consists of five ATR 72-600 aircraft and two Dornier 228 NG.

Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Aurigny, said: “This is a positive step forward for Aurigny and for its provision of reliable, sustainable and purposeful air connectivity for the Bailiwick.”

He expressed gratitude towards the dedicated team that prepared for this fleet enhancement and recognised Nordic Aviation Capital's role in the process.

The ATR 72-600 model, renowned for its fuel efficiency, has been strategically leased in line with Aurigny's shareholder-approved plan.

Operating flights between Guernsey and London Gatwick using the ATR 72-600 results in a 36% reduction in fuel consumption per passenger compared to the previously deployed jet aircraft.

The aircraft, with full Aurigny livery expected by 2025, reinforces the airline's commitment to improving network resilience while advancing its sustainability goals.

Aurigny currently operates daily flights to key destinations such as Gatwick, Paris, London City, and Edinburgh with its fleet of ATR and Dornier aircraft.
