The Sark Community Dairy, after successfully establishing a thriving dairy farm under the stewardship of Jason and Katherine Salisbury, is now on the hunt for new tenants.
The Salisburys announced their intention to return to their Suffolk farm next summer, prompting the search for successors to uphold the dairy's legacy.
The couple was instrumental in developing a top-quality herd and introducing product lines that include milk, award-winning cheeses, and butter, achieving their goal of setting up the dairy as a going concern.
"We are proud to have been the first dairy farmers for the Sark Community Dairy, to establish our top-quality herd and create products of milk, double award-winning cheeses, cream, and butter," said Jason and Katherine Salisbury.
Their departure is planned with the hope that the next tenants will elevate the dairy to new heights, with continued support from the islanders.
The Salisburys expressed their willingness to pass on their knowledge and assist the new tenants in any way they can.
Christopher Beaumont, trustee and Seigneur, thanked the Salisburys for their commitment and efforts in establishing the dairy as a vital part of Sark’s land management and enhancing its bucolic landscape.
The trustees are now seeking individuals passionate about continuing this legacy and are ready to reside and work in Sark's distinctive setting.
The search for the subsequent tenants is initially focused on candidates from within the two Bailiwicks, with plans to widen the search to the UK in the coming weeks.
The opportunity represents a turnkey business venture for the right person.
